Neotree

Location: Africa

How does this organization contribute to our joint mission to accelerate the digital transformation as a means to achieve UHC in LMICs by 2030?

UHC is where all babies have access to essential care. Neotree is actively contributing to UHC through the pursuit of delivery of essential newborn care to all babies, wherever they are born. According to the WHO UHC “cannot be achieved without the support of eHealth”. Neotree empowers healthcare professionals in low-resource settings to improve newborn care by putting the lifesaving power of technology into their hands. The embedding of use on admission for all babies, and adherence to national and international care standards, ensures evidence-based universal care. Through FCDO funding Neotree has adapted its technology for use in primary care facilities and is currently piloting in 2 sites. Our next step is a Network Impact Evaluation (2024-2027) which will provide critical information on the impact of Neotree on the quality of care given to small and sick newborns in primary care settings and the potential for impact at scale.

What does this organization bring to the DCCC network?

Neotree’s vision (to catalyse the digital transformation of newborn care in low resource settings) aligns perfectly with the DCCC’s (to accelerate the digital transformation of healthcare in low-and middle-income countries). Neotree’s work will help to achieve UN SDG3 and UHC, strengthen health systems, and save the lives of more than 0.5m babies each year. Collaboration is one of our core values. Neotree technology was co-developed with clinicians in Zimbabwe and Malawi and it was developed to maximise interoperability with other tech platforms. In 2023 Neotree was honoured to be 1 of 5 global winners recognised for their “imaginative, brave and bold work” to help make quality health care available to everyone, no matter where they are born. Specifically, the Future United Collaborator Award recognised organisations who cross boundaries to fuse their skills and experience with others, achieving extraordinary results to change the face of global health.
